In prophecy what if the opposite happens?

Sometimes when we get a word from God the opposite happens initially; this can test our faith, and make us doubt the word, if we do not understand this can happen and are prepared for it (Cooke 2002).
The prophetic word given by God is meant to prepare us for and lift us above our situation and give us something to hold onto in order to sustain us through difficult times.

A bald eagle soars while looking at the camera!

“So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.” 2 Peter 1:19

Psalm 105:19 “Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him.”

Good advice when this happens is Habakkuk 2:2+3 “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay.”
If you make a habit of recording what God gives you and reading it regularly you will be so familiar with it that when it comes to pass you will be ready for it.

Most of the Old Testament scriptures concerning ‘The Lamb of God’ and Jesus’ death and resurrection did not make sense until after the event.

When you get a revelation (especially a dream) write it down and read /pray through it every now and then. It is surprising when you read back how God warns/informs you about situations and this way you will learn to recognise a situation approaching.

Gen 41:32 “Now as for the repeating of the dream to pharaoh twice, it means that the matter is determined by God, and God will quickly bring it about.”

By inference here, many dreams we have just once may take a while to come to pass.
