Welcome to ChristianProphecy.org.uk.

This website is designed to provide a scriptural base and a practical ‘how to’ guide for those interested in prophecy.

It is not designed to bring you the latest prophetic word – there are sites like www.elijahlist.com where you can go for those.
There is a Chinese saying ‘If you give someone a fish you feed them for a day, if you teach them to fish you feed them for a lifetime.’ This site is therefore designed to help you receive from God, process it and then, if needed, pass it on safely so that God can feed you and others.

Why a web site on Prophecy? The Apostle Paul tells us to:

“Pursue love, yet desire earnestly spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.” 1 Cor 14:1

The reason why Paul encourages us to especially desire prophecy is that, of all the spiritual gifts it teaches us to tune into the things of heaven and what is happening in the Kingdom of God. It thus enables us to cry out in prayer and in public “Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”
When you study the lives of the prophets in the Bible you will see that one moment they spoke a word from God, the next they moved in a supernatural gift. When you learn how to receive from God what He wants in a situation, the supernatural empowerment to enable that situation to change follows close behind.

One of the most important things that I have learnt about prophecy is that there is always more to learn. If you approach it with a humble heart and a hunger for more, the Holy Spirit is a willing tutor. That is why one of the mottos for this site is:

A photo of a tree whose leaves are in the first flush of spring's growth - a beautiful light green. This is surrounded by photos of autumn leaves!

Some people approach Christianity like those who purchase the latest computer, with multi-media abilities and just use it for word processing! Hopefully this web site will show that there is more to Christianity than just ‘word processing’ and open up a whole new ‘Vista’ to some! The section in 'receiving' on the principles God uses, will help remove some of the bugs associated with the new Vista!

When approaching prophecy and other spiritual gifts, a wise attitude to take is that of the people of Berea who:

“Received the word with great eagerness examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.” Acts 17:11

In order to facilitate this I have included many examples from scripture and only provided personal examples based on the principle of these.

The website is composed of 5 parts:-

Part 1 - The intro - you are reading this!

Part 2 - Old Testament versus New Testament prophet

This part looks at what it meant to be an “Old Testament prophet.” In the light of this, it then examines how a New Testament prophet should act differently from an Old Testament one. It follows the example that Jesus gave and tutored his disciples in. This study is fundamental to the website and the basis on which the other studies are built. It will help prevent Old Testament behaviour when prophesying - a problem which still arises throughout the church today. Click on the rollover image below to access.

Part 3 - Receiving

The first section looks at some principles of how God communicates in scripture. A grounding in these principles is essential to functioning well in the “Gifts of the Spirit.” The second section looks at ways of receiving from God through our senses, impressions, visions, open visions, trances, signs and dreams. Part 4 - Interpreting

This part looks at how to interpret what we receive from God. Understanding what the revelation we receive means, judging it and applying it to our situation is often the most tricky process we face. This part looks at how to do these things in the light of God's word. Click the rollover image below to access.

Part 5 - Spiritual Gifts

This section deals with the other “Gifts of the Spirit” such as “Speaking in tongues” and “The word of knowledge.” Click on the rollover image below to access.

This website is written as a free resource for the coming “Harvest generation” and the following harvest, who will naturally turn to the web for their information. Their numbers will grow so rapidly that there will not be enough time to print books quickly enough to equip them! My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will breathe on this web site and spread the seeds of prophecy and the other gifts of the Spirit far and wide throughout the wwworld.
